What on Earth is “The Doe Track”?

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BLOG

🕒 READING TIME:
2–3 minutes

Dearest reader,

First and foremost: Hello! And welcome to the first official blog post on this website. As its title suggests, you might be wondering what this section entails, and the reasons behind its name.

Well. Let me begin by saying that I wasn’t entirely sure I was going to feature a blog on here. Yet, ever since starting my writing journey I have realised there is an incredible amount of thoughts and ideas I would like to share, and not just in the form of creative works of fiction and non-fiction. The reasons behind this decision aren’t limited to just the different, more pragmatic form of communication, if I’m being honest. Apart from its directness, blogging seems like a great way of exploring my creativity, both as an essayist and as a website creator and designer.

As for the actual content of my blog, I’m thinking about touching upon both music and literature related subjects, as well as impromptu musings about society, history, science (to name a few), and just the mind-boggling concept of life in general. As you might be able to tell from my short-form, not-so-subtly inserted autobiography, I have a great number of passions, and I love sharing said passions with the world. So if any of the afore-mentioned subjects peaked your interest, feel free to follow along the track and see what this author gets up to!

When it came to deciding upon a name, I probably spent a full two minutes trying to come up with a clever, not-too-cheesy wordplay with “Doe”, and honestly, The Doe Track was kind of inevitable as an endresult. The word “track” has so many different meanings, I mean, take the Cambridge English Dictionary: among the 14 different definitions of the noun, it is cited as the “marks left on the ground […] by an animal [in motion]”, and as “the way […] an idea [may] develop”, like when you follow the track of someone’s argument. So really, The Doe Track is pretty fitting for a philosphical blog, by someone named Doe, who wants to build a kind of legacy online.

This name stands for the mark that I want to leave in the world.

All in all, I truly hope you will enjoy this somewhat unsettling, yet incredibly exciting adventure along with me, and I will see you next time! Stay amazing, and have a lovely rest of the day.

Yours truly,
